Student Activities

CLHS Student Activities

Participation in co-curricular activities enriches a student’s high school life and enables him to learn skills, develop talents, make new friends and share interests. Students are encouraged to participate in different areas of the school program, keeping in mind all of their responsibilities.

Many student activities and clubs are open to any student who wishes to take part, while others require the student to participate in a selection process which may include election or audition by peers or faculty or involve being enrolled in a related course in the curriculum. Some are courses in the curriculum for which the student must be registered and gain approval of the instructor. Most groups elect their own officers, giving students leadership experience. Many involve doing service work for the school or community. While in most cases there is no fee for participation, student activities must be self-supporting and often involve fundraising as part of their program or collectio of fees for special activities.

New students interested in a particular activity should contact the faculty advisor or sponsor. A list of those teachers is provided in the Student and Parent Handbook distributed at the beginning of the school year. School clubs announce meetings and auditions through the Daily Bulletin.
