Hello Concordia,
This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears all nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres. This is the first verse of the hymn our A Cappella Choir use for the theme of this year’s Choir Tour, My Father’s World, which occurred March 8-12.
Throughout scripture, music is used in glorifying God, His creation, and Our Salvation. Our church heritage is strengthened through music to instruct, to comfort, to celebrate the loving relationship God calls us into being. Our prayers and encouragement go with Mr. Adam Friedrich and the students of our band ensembles as they travel through Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, and Indiana, on their upcoming Band Tour on March 20-24.
Concordia Lutheran High School has been and continues to be blessed by a terrific Fine Arts program. Two weeks ago, under the direction of Mr. Chris Murphy and his many assistants, nearly 80 students performed the musical, Newsies, to full houses in the Concordia Auditorium. The dancing was terrific. The acting, inspiring. The set, amazing. The costumes, authentic. The music, uplifting. Most importantly, our students had a blast sharing their gifts from God with the audience. Congratulations and thanks to the Newsies Team — once again you raised the bar of Fine Arts excellence in our school!
This week we celebrate Fine Arts Week, joining the 14 schools of the Lutheran Schools Partnership in the Fort Wayne area. Highlights of Fine Arts week include the high school’s Fine Arts Chapel on Thursday, our Fine Arts Assembly on Friday, our Comedy Festival (highlighting middle and high school student films) on Friday night at 7 p.m., and the mass of student art, bands, and choirs on Sunday for the Fine Arts Festival at CLHS beginning at 12:30 p.m. Please join us! They are all held at the high school.
Go Concordia!
