Truth. What is it? As we talk about the history of ethics in our Theological Ethics class, this question comes up. It’s so important to teach our children and students that absolute truth can only come from one place — God. How wonderful that we can read his words in the Bible. In His Word, he gives us divine guidance to navigate life each day and keeps us focused on what is truly important.
One of my favorite verses is Philippians 4:8. “Whatever is TRUE, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things.” What great direction this gives us in living our lives.
Take some time today to share truth with someone around you. It’s tough in the world today to know what’s really true when so much is based upon feelings. Spread the news — truth is found only in the One who created us, who loves us unconditionally, who forgives us when we fail. Jesus is the way, the TRUTH, and the life (John 14:6).
Thank Him for that — and tell someone else the great news!!
