Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award:
Megan Miller
Since 1933, Bausch & Lomb has honored outstanding high school science students with the Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award.
Candidates for this award are selected based on:
- Academic excellence in 3 years of science courses.
- Rigor of science courses selected during the academic career.
- PSAT Math, SAT Math, and/or ACT Science/Math scores.
Winners of the Honorary Science Award are automatically considered for the Bausch & Lomb Science Scholarship to the University of Rochester, which provides each qualified student at least $10,000 per year (totaling $40,000 over four years).
Rensselaer Award:
Brock Tweedy
The Rensselaer Medal was first presented in 1916 with two purposes to recognize the superlative academic achievement of young men and women, and to motivate students toward careers in science, engineering, and technology.
The Medal is awarded to promising high school juniors who have distinguished themselves in mathematics and science. This minimum $15,000 per year merit scholarship is guaranteed for four years for each Medalist who applies, is accepted, and chooses to enroll at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
To be honored with the Rensselaer Medal, a student must:
- Be ranked within the top 10% of the junior class
- Demonstrate potential for success in a challenging academic setting
- Excel in advanced math and science courses
- Exhibit significant involvement in extracurricular activities
