Our CLHS Admissions events were a little different this year. I feel like we have been the “MacGyver” Admissions Team, reinventing events as we find out what we need to do to comply with state guidelines.
Concordia Day for 8th graders became “Virtual Concordia Day.” We were able to compile an abbreviated video of the tour stops and experiences they would have seen this day. We dropped off goody bags at all of the area Lutheran Schools for their 8th graders so that they could watch the video in class and participate in the interactive activities.
Then Discover Concordia Night became “Discover Concordia Night Webinar.” We had a great turnout for our webinar and parents could watch it from the safety of their own home.
Starting in October, I started meeting with prospective families one-on-one in person again or they still had the option to meet via Zoom. We were able to hold our January Open House in person with pre-registration so that we could control numbers. In fact, we had to add an extra Open House in February because we booked every spot!
Freshman Scheduling Nights were spread out over three nights this year and had a great turn out.
While adapting all of our events was a headache at the time, I think that we have taken away ways to add to our events in the future. Our new strategies and tactics that we want to continue have helped to keep our enrollment numbers on track.
It’s not too late to get your student applied for next year. We have even waived the application fee so it's easy to apply. Please contact me to get started!
