FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Mike Eshbach has been named the new Head Football Coach at Concordia Lutheran High School.
Eshback was an assistant coach for freshman and varsity special teams at Concordia from 1995-97. Since that time, he has worked as a football coach at area high schools, including DeKalb, Paoli, New Haven, Bishop Dwenger, Eastside and Wawasee. He was also the head football coach for Classic City Crush, a men’s semi-pro team in Auburn, Ind.
“I decided to pursue the head football coaching position because I always remembered the friendships I made and the great kids I had the opportunity to coach when I was a young coach trying to get my feet wet,” he said.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Manchester University, where he also played running back in college, and he also has a master’s degree from Indiana University Fort Wayne. He is currently the assistant principal at Edison Jr./Sr. High School, but he will be transitioning out of that position to continue to expand his family’s personal business where they breed and train service dogs. He and his wife, Melissa, have two children, Evan and Emily.
