I began teaching at CLHS in August of 2014.
Please describe your position at CLHS.
I teach sophomore classes for Biblical Literature II and Genres of Literature (both New Testament classes), and senior classes for Theological Ethics and Theology in Media. I am also the faculty advisor for the Helping Hands Club.
What was your education that led you to CLHS?
I attended Concordia University (Concordia College at the time) in St. Paul, Minnesota, and received a Lutheran teaching degree.
What did you love most about teaching at CLHS?
Hands down the thing I love the most about teaching at Concordia is the students!! I love talking with them and being a part of their lives each day. I love being able to share God's word with them and show them how it applies to their lives now and always.
What's your favorite story about your time at CLHS?
I think some of my favorite memories are from the trips I have taken as a chaperone for the March for Life in Washington, D.C. I was able to go over the years with three of my own children, which was so great! I have also enjoyed really getting to know students on this trip. I have laughed and cried (and sometimes laughed till I cried!) with them on the bus ride, at the church where we stay overnight, and at the march itself. The whole experience - over and over again - has been so much more than I expected, and something I encourage students to participate in if they can!
