Sharing difficult news regarding a student

It is with heavy hearts today that we announce the passing of one of our students, junior Coralie Tiefel. Coralie passed away early yesterday morning at her home. The exact cause is unknown at this time.

Coralie is the daughter of Ted and Joy Tiefel. Joy is a Spanish teacher at Concordia. Coralie has four siblings, one who is a current student at Concordia and two who are students at Emmanuel-St. Michael Lutheran School.
Coralie was a treasured member of our Marching Band and our Bella Voce choir. She transferred to Concordia last year from Arizona. She also attended ESM for a couple of years when she was younger. Her family attends Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

We will have counselors from Lutheran Social Services and Cross Connections on hand to help students through the grief process this week and beyond. Our School Counselors and campus pastors also will be available for any students in need. We will also have Jared, our Comfort Dog, here for additional support.
If you have any questions or concerns about your student, please contact the School Counseling Office at (260) 483-1102.

Please keep the Tiefel family, friends, and school community in your prayers.

“We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.” ~ I Thessalonians 4:13-14
