There were over 1,500 DECA students from across the state competing in 49 different business events for the DECA state competition. Approximately 225 students have qualified to represent their respective schools and Indiana at the international DECA competition in Atlanta, Georgia where there will be about 22,000 students competing! DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) is our business student club at CLHS.
CLHS DECA has 6 students who have qualified for International Career Development Conference/Competition in Atlanta, GA from April 23 to 27, 2022. The top four placements in each event advance to International DECA Competition.
Our CLHS students who have earned the right to advance include:
- Cam Cage: 2nd place overall in Start-up Business Plan
- Max Chhabra: 2nd place overall (Automotive Services)
- Jack Habegger: 3rd place overall (Restaurant Full Serve Marketing)
- Michael Habegger: 2nd place overall (Restaurant Full Serve Marketing)
- Larry Schoenefeld: 2nd place overall (Personal Financial Literacy)
- Izzy Smith: 4th place overall (Accounting Applications)
In addition, Lizzie Crook was a finalist in her event and finished in the top ten for Principles of Business. Management.
