We’ve reached halftime of the 2022-2023 academic school year. Just like an athlete who has poured themself out over the first half of play, our students and faculty have tackled a rigorous curriculum, assisted each other and our community in acts of service, and scored their very best on final exams. Now it's time to rest, regroup, and reflect before we start the second semester.
However, Christmas is much more than a simple break from the challenges of the daily grind. Christmas is the celebration of a long-awaited Messiah! It’s the recognition that in our brokenness due to sin, God provided a Savior and redeemer! In the fullness of time, God delivered on His promise and sent his Son who was, and is, our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.
Halftime at Concordia is more than a break. It’s a time to be renewed, redeemed, and restored! We celebrate the victory won for us in the birth of Jesus, knowing that He came to bring us eternal life through his own life, death, and resurrection.
I’m so proud of our students, faculty and staff for their effort and accomplishments this first semester! We are wonderfully blessed as a Concordia family by our highly qualified and dedicated faculty and staff, talented and caring students, supportive parents, and so many engaged alumni and friends. We are blessed to be a blessing.
Above all, at Concordia we can proclaim the truth. 700 years before the birth of Christ, the prophet Isaiah proclaimed these words about Jesus, our Savior:
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
Jesus fulfilled the promise! He is the Savior of the nations!
May we all return in January ready and re-energized for the second half. I can’t wait to see how God works in and through you!
Merry Christmas Concordia Family!
