At Concordia Lutheran High School, fall brings not just the changing leaves but also unique traditions like JROTC firing the cannon at home football games, Cadets working the Johnny Appleseed Festival, and the upcoming—Concordia Day (November 10t.h) It's a day when we open our doors wide to welcome over 350 eager 8th graders, offering them a glimpse into the vibrant high school life that awaits them. As we close our regular classes for the day, the hallways buzz with excitement, paving the way for an immersive experience that goes beyond the ordinary.
Bridging the Gap: A Day of Connection
Concordia Day is not just a break from routine; it's a bridge that connects the future with the present. As these young minds step onto our campus, they are greeted by the warmth of our community and the promise of endless possibilities. The day is carefully curated to provide them with a taste of the academic challenges, extracurricular opportunities, and the supportive atmosphere that defines life at CLHS.
A Day in the Life
From interactive classes led by passionate educators to engaging activities that showcase the diverse talents within our student body, Concordia Day is a comprehensive exploration of high school life. Students will physically “explore CLHS” for the day, getting their CLHS Passports stamped at each tour stop along the way. The 8th graders dive into science experiments, try their hand at various JROTC activities, and witness the dynamism of our sports teams. It's more than a tour—it's an immersion into the rich tapestry of experiences that await them as they embark on their high school journey.
Cultivating Leadership and Community Spirit
High school in many ways is the launching point for the rest of a student’s life. At CLHS, we give students plenty of opportunities through extracurriculars and rigorous academic programs to discover their passions so that they graduate as Christian servant-leaders who are prepped and ready for whatever comes next.
Looking Forward
Concordia Day is not just a one-time event; it's a catalyst for building a sense of anticipation and camaraderie among our incoming class. As the day concludes, we witness a spark in their eyes—a spark that speaks of potential, ambition, and the exciting journey that lies ahead. We look forward to welcoming these bright individuals as they transition from 8th graders to high school students, ready to contribute their unique talents to the legacy of CLHS.
In essence, Concordia Day is a celebration of community, learning, and the promise of a future where each student is empowered to thrive. It's a tradition that echoes the core values of CLHS nurturing not just academic excellence but also the leaders and change-makers of tomorrow.
