As your child prepares to make the exciting transition from middle school to high school, we want to ensure that you have all the information you need to navigate the admissions process at CLHS. Whether you're familiar with our community or just starting to explore your options, this guide will help you stay informed and make the most of the opportunities ahead.
1. Admissions Guide
If your student currently attends an area Lutheran grade school, keep an eye on your mailbox in late September! Our new Admissions Guide will be arriving with all the essential details you need to know about CLHS, including key dates, programs, and application tips. If you do not receive one or you attend a different school, please don't hesitate to email me at [email protected], and I'll make sure you get a copy.
2. Future Cadet Night – Friday, October 4th
Mark your calendars for Future Cadet Night on October 4th during our Homecoming Game. This is a fantastic opportunity for your 5th-8th graders to experience the excitement of our Homecoming festivities firsthand. We offer free tickets to all 5th-8th grade students, along with free popcorn and a chance to win some awesome CLHS swag! We’ll be sending an email to all parents of 5th-8th graders in our database with a link to sign up for your free tickets, so watch your inbox. If you are not in our database just email me and I will get your student a free ticket. It’s a night you won’t want to miss!
3. Priority Application Period – October 15th to December 20th
Our Priority Application Period for Fall 2025 opens on October 15th and closes on December 20th. Submitting your application during this period ensures that your student will receive their financial aid package by mid-February. You must apply by December 20th to be considered for our top academic scholarship, The Concordia Scholar. To complete the application, you’ll need to provide the following documents:
• 1st quarter report card for 8th grade
• 7th-grade ILEARN scores
•Birth certificate
• A copy of your student’s IEP, ISP, or 504 Plan with Educational Evaluation (if applicable)
Please note, that if you apply after December 20th, your financial aid package will be delayed, and your student will not be eligible for the Concordia Scholar.
4. Concordia Day – Friday, November 8th
On November 8th, we’re excited to host Concordia Day, a special event where over 350 area 8th graders will visit CLHS from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Students will explore our campus with their CLHS passports (we will provide them), collecting stamps at each tour stop while learning about our classes and opportunities. The day also includes an action-packed opening program, a CLHS Activities Fair, and a free pizza lunch with our coaches. If your student doesn’t attend an area Lutheran grade school but would like to participate, please email me to register them.
5. Discover Concordia Night – Wednesday, November 13th
Join us on November 13th at 6:30 PM for Discover Concordia Night. This event is designed for you the parents and students who want a closer look at our school. You’ll visit some of our favorite tour stops and finish the evening with a session where I’ll explain the application process, scholarships, and financial aid. It’s a great way to get answers to any questions you might have.
6. Last Look Open House – Sunday, January 26, 2025
If you’re still making decisions or just want one last visit before applying, our Last Look Open House on January 26th is the perfect opportunity. From noon to 3:00 PM, we’ll be offering in-depth tours that depart every half hour, giving you a comprehensive look at our school’s offerings and facilities.
7. Freshman Scheduling Nights & Signing – Late February 2025
Once your 8th grader has been accepted to CLHS, they’ll have the opportunity to select their freshman classes during our Freshman Scheduling Nights in late February. This is an exciting step in planning their high school journey, and we’ll be there to guide them every step of the way. Students will also get their pictures taken with their parents at their ”CLHS Signing Night.” Just another way to get them excited about high school.
8. Financial Aid Deadline – July 1st
The deadline for submitting financial aid applications is July 1st, but please don’t wait until the last minute! We distribute aid until it’s gone, so applying early increases your chances of receiving support.
As you and your student prepare for this next exciting chapter, we’re here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or need assistance with the admissions process, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
