FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Concordia Lutheran High School senior Christopher Pyles has been selected to participate in the 55th Annual Indiana All-State High School Band Festival sponsored by the Indiana Bandmasters Association.
Pyles was selected along with 166 other students from 56 high schools across the state.
Each student earned this honor by participating in a highly competitive audition held in January in nine centers across Indiana. More than 600 talented, young musicians applied to audition. A selection committee then reviewed the recordings from each center and chose the final students.
Dr. Andrew Mast from Lawrence University will direct the 84-piece band.
All members will participate in a series of activities including seating auditions, sectionals and full rehearsals from March 13-15. A free grand finale concert will be presented at 2:30 p.m. March 15 in the Elliott Hall of Music on the Purdue University – West Lafayette campus.
