We are celebrating the Class of 2016 at graduation at 1 p.m. May 29 at the Historic Embassy Theatre in downtown Fort Wayne. We have 154 graduates led by valedictorians, Mitchell Scott and Shelby Senger, and salutatorian, Alison Hazelet.
Mr. Mitchell Scott, Valedictorian
Mr. Scott, son of Timothy A. and Rhonda M. Scott, plans to attend IPFW to study molecular biochemistry, biophysics and chemical engineering after graduation and then continue his studies at a military academy. He is a member at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and attended St. Peter’s Lutheran School. At Concordia, he is a member of the National Honor Society, and he received the Latin Award at Senior Honors Night. He is a Koinonia leader. In JROTC, he is the Battalion Executive Officer, Mascot Commander, and Army Drill Team Commander. He is receiving an Academic Honors Diploma.
Miss Shelby Senger, Valedictorian
Miss Senger, daughter of Scott and Amanda Senger, plans to study International Studies at the University of Chicago where she received the James Kerrigan Scholarship. She is a member at Emmanuel Lutheran Church and attended Emmanuel-St. Michael’s Lutheran School. At Concordia, she is a Concordia Scholar and a member of the National Honor Society. She also received the World Languages Department Award and the Mathematics Department Award at Senior Honors Night. She is a National Merit Finalist and an Indiana Academic Regional All-Star. She is a Koinonia leader, four-year tennis team member, Fellowship of Christian Athletes president, and president of the Spanish Club. She is receiving an Academic Honors Diploma.
Miss Alison Hazelet, Salutatorian
Miss Hazelet, daughter of Rex and Cheryl Hazelet, plans to attend the Kelley School of Business at IUPUI with a pre-dental focus. She also received the Chancellor’s Scholarship. She attends Holy Cross Lutheran Church and attended the school there. At Concordia, she is a member of the National Honor Society, a Koinonia leader, vice president of A Cappella, three-year member of Chamber Choir, a peer minister, and a peer tutor. She is receiving an Academic Honors Diploma.
