June 22, 2017

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Tim Mannigel, a longtime Concordia Lutheran High School coach and teacher, has been named the new athletic director. He will assume the position on July 1 with the retirement of Dean Doerffler.

"It's an honor to assume the role of athletic director at Concordia,” Mannigel said. “Concordia is a school with a rich athletic heritage, and the goal will be to create an environment where the level of excellence already established will be continued."

Mannigel has served as an English teacher and head football coach at Concordia since 1997. While he will no longer teach, he will continue on as the head football coach.

"Coaching is still something I enjoy and working with the players and the coaching staff at Concordia is very rewarding,” he said. “We hope to continue our run of recent success in 2017.”
