We have made some changes for the financial aid process for 2019-2020. To be considered for the Excel Scholarship there is no application to complete this year. You just need to have 2 teacher evaluations submitted online. If you wish to apply for the Concordia Scholars Scholarship, you must complete the application and have 2 teacher evaluations submitted as well. You only need 2 total, not 2 for Excel and 2 for Concordia Scholars.
If you will be completing the Tuition Scholarship Application, you will need to use your 2017 Federal Tax Return. We have made a switch to a company called TADS for our Tuition Scholarship. This company does a better job at reviewing for need.
If you have all of your admission items and financial aid applications submitted by December 14, an estimated award letter will be mailed out in the mail by mid-February.
If you already have a child currently at CLHS, there is nothing additional to complete. We will review the student’s GPA at the end of the year to make sure they are meeting the renewal criteria (3.5 for the Concordia Scholars, 2.5 for the Excel and 2.0 for the Cadet). You do not need to complete the Tuition Scholarship. Please note that we are using 2017 tax information to help streamline the renewal process, and we have this information on file for most of our families since that is what was used for 2018-2019. If you have had a change in income, please contact me directly so we can note this in your file.
I would also like to point out that the Choice Scholarship paperwork can be completed starting in April. Beginning in March, I will start taking requests for appointments to come in and complete the paperwork. In order to fully complete this paperwork, the State requires us to use your 2018 Federal Tax Return, so please make sure you have completed this step prior to setting up your appointment.
For seniors, just a reminder that you now can complete your 2019-2020 FAFSA. It is important to complete it early so that you make sure you do not miss any deadlines. If you and your parents need help completing the FAFSA please feel free to contact me to set up an appointment. Also, continue to watch the Daily Bulletin for scholarship opportunities to apply for.
As always, if you should have any questions or your circumstances change, please feel free to contact me.
