Austin Thoms named new head boys basketball coach

Austin Thoms is a 2006 graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School where he played basketball for Coach Reinking and football for Coach Doerffler. He has spent time coaching at Hawaii Pacific University, The University of Nebraska, and The University of Northern Colorado.

Terry Breininger has been named this year’s LTG General John Moellering Hall of Honor inductee. He currently serves as the executive director of Concordia Lutheran High School.

CLHS welcomes three new Concordia Scholars

Concordia Lutheran High School has named three incoming freshmen as Concordia Scholars for the 2016-17 school year. This year’s recipients are Hunter and Alexa Ehle from St. Peter’s Lutheran School and Natalie Asher from Lutheran South Unity School.

Congrats to Nathan Grime - Allen County Right to Life Oratory Contest Winner

Allen County Right to Life held an Oratory Contest on Saturday, April 16th at 9:00am at the ACRL Office – 2126 Inwood Drive Fort Wayne, IN. The winner, CLHS senior Nathan Grime, will be sent to represent Allen County at the statewide Pro-life Oratory Contest in Indianapolis on Saturday, May 7 where they will compete against other contestants from around the state.

Concordia takes 3rd in TechFest competition

With more than 20 area schools competing, Concordia placed first in Computer Forensics (freshman Quinn Barlow, junior Zach Bultemeier, freshman Reace Fitzgerald and senior Maria Spechard), second in Engineering in a Box (senior Addison Gepfert, sophomore Chancynn Giddens, senior Tariq Jackson, and senior Sami Miller), and third overall.

The Lutheran Foundation awards grants to help CLHS, area students

The Lutheran Foundation has awarded $202,000 to help local Lutheran schools students, including those at Concordia Lutheran High School.

From Frost Illustrated: Kaneise Mitchell-Casey, a freshman at Concordia Lutheran High School, is a delegate of the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders in Lowell, Mass., from June 29 through July 1, 2016.

Walking to better health

Dust them off, lace them up and just start ... walking that is. We all do some of it every day. We just need to give some thought to it. Walking even less than one half hour a day can cut our risk of heart disease by almost one third.
