As I write this post, my family and I are beginning a period of quarantine that looms long into the days ahead.

The Class of 1986 through is gift to Concordia Lutheran High School established an award, which is to be annually presented to a member of the senior class.  Barnabas was a missionary and co-worker with St. Paul.  The name “Barnabas” means “encourager” and that is what he was.  His mission and ministry in life was to be of service to his fellowman.  He lived the faith and was dedicated to bolstering and encouraging fellow believers in theirs.  His actions spoke clearly what he professed to be.

Our CLHS Admissions events were a little different this year. I feel like we have been the “MacGyver” Admissions Team, reinventing events as we find out what we need to do to comply with state guidelines.

Mychal Thom, Head of School at Concordia Lutheran High School, has accepted a Call to be the Chief Diversity Officer and Associate Dean for Academic Innovation at Concordia University, St. Paul, MN. The position would begin for the 2021-22 school year. His position will begin in August 2021.

Concordia Lutheran High School has named Nicole Bolinger as the new head girls basketball coach.

A year ago, when I wrote my last blog, none of us saw how crazy the next 12 months would be. I thank each and every one of you for your support throughout the pandemic.

We want to announce that Tim Mannigel is stepping down as the Head Football Coach. He has served as a coach at Concordia since 1997, first as an assistant from 1997 to 2009 and then as the head coach since 2010.

The American Heart Association celebrates this month as Heart Healthy Month. One of their primary focuses is high blood pressure and how it can be a “silent killer.”
