Biography

Mrs. Joy Tiefel was a student teacher under the guidance of Mrs. Darcy Lugo in 2013 from Purdue University Fort Wayne. She started her teaching career in Yutan, Nebraska, where she taught 4 levels of Spanish for five years. In 2018 she accepted a position to teach Spanish levels 1-3 in Morenci, Arizona. She arrived at Concordia in January 2021 and finished the school year teaching level 1 Spanish. Currently she is teaching 1 class of Spanish 1 and 5 classes of Spanish 3. 

She blends traditional Spanish coursework with CI (comprehensible input) or TPRS (total physical response storytelling. 

Some of her interests include camping/backpacking, sewing, singing and cooking.
