Computer Camp—Summer of Code with Robots
Have fun exploring the wonderful world of computer programming in this hands-on STEM camp designed for beginners. First-time computer scientists will learn the basics of coding by sampling several programming languages and building robots. Python and Visual C# will emphasize computer syntax, logic, problem-solving, and working with object-oriented programming languages. Thunkable features a drag-and-drop program design to develop iPhone/Android apps. And Lego Mindstorm EV3 robots will teach valuable engineering concepts and computer skills as campers design, build, program and compete with working robots.
Never programed a computer or built a robot before? No problem! The emphasis of the camp is to provide an energetic atmosphere with a focus on teamwork, collaboration, and having fun learning to “speak” computer. All you need to bring is your creativity and basic keyboarding skills. Register by May 12 for your Summer of Code USB Flash drive containing all computer languages used in camp. Bringing your own Windows or Mac computer is recommended by NOT required. Please bring a sack lunch.
