The new year brings excitement and hope that as we take or initiate the challenges and opportunities that God places before us to grow in our understanding of Him and our role as His people. Our foundation in Christ’s love, which brings us the forgiveness of our sins through His death and resurrection, provides us with the confidence to grow, to live, to thrive. Please pray for our students and faculty that they are filled with resolve and confidence to have a terrific Spring Semester in both their academic and co-curricular life at Concordia.

It has been a whirlwind first few months at Concordia for our newest Cadets from our partner school, Concordia Dalian International High School, in Dalian, China. Ten students (four juniors and six seniors) joined us this fall and have been eagerly getting involved in the Concordia community.

For Ethan and Eli Ernst, their love of marching band began at Concordia. At the persuasion of Dianne Moellering, retired CLHS band director, the two joined up.

Mindy and Tim Walz, both Lutheran educators, have strived to give their children the best possible opportunities to be successful; whether that be in academics or whatever they seem to show interest in. In most cases, that interest would be music.

There are many teachers who stand out at Concordia, but as an award would show, Andrew Morris stands among the top.

German teacher Tim LaCroix has been a part of the Concordia family since 1987.

Lizzy Hoham, a 2007 Concordia graduate, worked hard in high school, which led her to attend Harvard University.

In the 2017-18 school year, the Concordia art department had an idea — one that would benefit the school and the local community.

On December 17, our cadets hosted their annual Christmas Party. In the past we have held the party at Crazy Pins, Parkview Ice arena, and in the school as a lock-in. This year we were at Ultra Zone, which is owned by one of our former parents. Of the 98 JROTC cadets in the Battalion, 60 cadets attended the Christmas Party, which in all honesty was a very low key affair. Nothing fancy, just pizza and laser tag. It was good old-fashioned fun for all who attended.

A group of 70 Concordia Lutheran High School students will take on Washington, D.C., later this month in support of pro-life in the annual March for Life.
