Rehearsal for this year’s One-Act play, "Black Sheep Records," begins with giddy chatting as students move classroom desks away from each other to create our stage space. Giggles permeate masks. Scripts rustle as we each find the right page.

I have exciting news – The Concordia Lutheran High School Clinic is excited to partner with Super Shot to offer FREE (with nearly all insurance providers) Flu Shots for your entire family!!!

Over the summer, an incident occurred through Blackbaud where data may have been compromised. Our Blackbaud system is used to manage information on our Concordia Lutheran High School students, parents, alumni, donors, and friends of the school. Information includes demographic and financial information as well as giving histories.

Our marching show will look a little different. We will be scaling back our show and using different music, but we will still have lots of movement and choreography. Having a non-competitive season will help us focus on sharing the value of music with our Fort Wayne community, all the while showing the resilience of music and the arts under any circumstances.

Beginning Sept. 1, we are allowing fans to come to HOME sporting events at Concordia Lutheran High School and Zollner Stadium with a capacity allowance of 250 for our home soccer and volleyball games, and 500 for our football games (250 per side).

While the media have focused on students’ and parents’ needs for school to be open and in-person, they typically have left out the teachers’ needs. I am not referring to the feeling of safety from teaching at home; I am referring to the need for being physically with our students.

The following students have been named to the Honor Roll and Honorable Mention list for Spring 2020.

These new freshmen are: Max Adair, Luke Ahlersmeyer, Luke Bieberich, Joshua Castleman, Allison Dubay, Jorge Herrera, Jakiya Johnson, Alexander Jones, Joshua Maxson, Lydia O’Dell, Alexa Panning, Sydney Reynolds and Carter Ripke.

Due to forecast temperatures and high heat indexes Tuesday-Thursday of this week, Concordia Lutheran High School will exercise an early dismissal near 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 25 (A day), Wednesday, August 26 (D day), and Thursday, August 27 (C day).

“On Christ, the solid rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand.” I found myself singing the lyrics of the hymn “My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less” (LSB 575) in the spring while putting away everything in my classroom.
