Who could imagine that five months ago we would be wearing masks, practicing physical (social) distancing, working from home, working from work, eating at home, eating out rarely, unable to gather with friends, worshiping online or outside and the list could go on and on and on. None of us have any life experience comparable and history only partially provided similar situations in the 20th and 21st century. And yet, here we are about to start school for the 2020-2021 school year, the 85th time Concordia Lutheran High School has been in session.

To start off the school year, we will have an orientation for ALL students.
Freshmen: 8:00-11:30 AM August 11
Sophomores: 9:00-10:30 AM August 12
Juniors: 1:00-2:30 PM August 12
Seniors: 1:00-3:00 PM August 11
Students will enter through the main school doors -- and ONLY those doors -- and report to the auditorium. Click the link for details.

The SAC has announced plans for fans through September 13 with plans following that date still to be determined. This plan has been reviewed and approved by the Allen County Department of Health. This will apply to all schools in the conference.

We are offering Registration completely online this year. While some items will be handled at the start of the school year, we are asking new and returning families to do their Registration items online this year. 2020 has been quite the year. Cancelled events, diminished dreams, and the loss of certain freedoms have marked our time for the past several months. It hasn’t been much fun and even the most optimistic amongst us struggle to find an end in sight to our current pandemic state-of-mind. Everything can just seem to be a bit too much.

A popular hashtag used on social media (at least within our community) is #cadetexcellence. In fact, it’s my go-to hashtag when I want to emphasize and/or share something special about Concordia Lutheran High School with my 1,000-plus close friends on Facebook and Instagram.

As I enter my 25th year in education, I look back at the changes that I have seen. Changes that include where I work, colleagues, job titles and responsibilities, technology, daily schedules, and so much more. Each year we add new courses, hire new teachers, and see new and returning students walk through our doors for the start of a new school year.
