As we all prepare for the start of the new calendar year, we are already looking ahead to the next school year and which courses students would like to take. On Friday, the school counselors will hold full class meetings in which we present credit requirements for graduation, new course offerings for the 2020-2021 school year, and how to select courses through their OnCampus account.

“Is that funny?” A question I get asked quite a bit, especially this time of year. Usually, right about now, we are finishing up a project in our video classes where students write, film, and edit a short comedy video. It really is great seeing and hearing all of their ideas, sometimes very simple and occasionally grandiose.

Concordia Lutheran High School will once again to host a 24-hour Theatre Festival for its students on Friday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 15 where they create, produce and showcase a new show within 24 hours. The plays will be showcased at 7 p.m. Feb. 15. Cost for the shows is $2 or a canned good, which will be donated to CANstruction.

Last week, prior to the start of the SAC championship swim and dive meet, I posed this question to the team: “What’s the hardest thing to do in sports?”

Concordia Lutheran High School is hosting summer camps for all ages this summer. Camps are offered for art, band, baseball, basketball, cheer, color guard, computers, drama, football, golf, lacrosse, rowing, sign language, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. Concordia is also offering summer classes for all area students in grades 8-12 (2019-20 school year).

Truth. What is it? As we talk about the history of ethics in our Theological Ethics class, this question comes up. It’s so important to teach our children and students that absolute truth can only come from one place — God.

You have probably noticed that students find the most satisfaction by being actively engaged in doing something to make the world a better place. They seem happy because they are making a difference. This is where service learning can come into play.

Area middle school students are invited to enter the 21st Annual Middle School Bridge Design Competition held at Concordia Lutheran High School.

Concordia Lutheran High School has named Jenni Cunningham the new head coach of the girls soccer team. She served as the interim coach for the 2019 season.
