As I was standing in the chaos that was the Kroger checkout this afternoon, I was struck by the level of frustration and stress folks were carrying. It wasn't the virus itself or the long lines or half empty shelves upsetting people. Actually most were surprisingly courteous and patient. But once I started talking with people standing all around me in the piled up line, so many concerns bubbled out quickly.

The Concordia Lutheran HS faculty has just concluded planning meetings for home-based remote learning for our students during the next several weeks.  Please carefully review the following information.

Because of the rising concern with COVID-19, and in support of regional, state, national, and international community efforts as well as a strong recommendation from the Allen County Board of Health to curb the spread of this virus, Concordia Lutheran High School will shift away from face-to-face instruction and move to home-based Remote Learning from March 16 through April 10.

We want to keep you informed about the ever-changing situation with the COVID-19 pandemic and how it is affecting our school community. Please know that we are in constant talks with the Allen County Department of Health as information becomes available. This message is intended to bring you up to date on current circumstances.

Now that your student’s freshman schedule has been completed, you might be wondering now what?

Trustee Austin Knox is a Fort Wayne native who has been working at the Wayne Township Trustee Office since January of 2015. On Friday, January 10, 2020, he was unanimously elected trustee at a caucus of Democratic precinct committee leaders of Wayne Township.

Have you ever been stopped cold in what you are doing and reminded that God has us in His hands? That whatever has your mind racing is going to be ok! It happened (again) to me recently as I represented our high school at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church for a “Concordia Weekend.”

Concordia Lutheran High School is working closely with local public health officials to plan and prepare for the possibility of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) within our school community. This letter provides general information and prevention recommendations to raise awareness of COVID-19 and everyday actions everyone can take to prevent the spread of illness.

I have been teaching mathematics and coaching soccer for over 20 years and see the key to success is EFFORT. Students and players have all been successful when they give their best effort daily. So the letter E in effort goes with encouragement. The only way effort is maximized is through encouragement.

We are once again using our God-given talents to give back to the community through our SERVINGbowls project. Our students have been working all year to create bowls for our event on Friday, April 24 from 5-7 p.m. in our cafeteria.
