Concordia Lutheran High School senior Dakota Hitzemann was honored today with the Richard W. Moellering Senior Barnabas Award. Established by the Class of 1986, the award recognizes a senior who exemplifies encouragement and servanthood.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a fascinating topic and growing resource in today’s world. From voice assistants to driving routes, AI has become an integral part of our daily lives and a powerful tool of education. The future of AI will bring ideas and solutions to real and complex problems such as alleviating poverty, improving education, accessing health care, combating climate change, and what to watch on a streaming service.

One of my favorite “jobs” is to be a Handler for Jared the Comfort Dog and His ministry. (And I do mean “His” since GOD is present in all that Jared has to offer.) I have continued to participate in this ministry for nearly four years now. Jared is a wonderful bridge to share God’s love and compassion with those we meet.

On Friday evening, Concordia Lutheran High School will host representatives from Taiwan for a special ceremony in relation to a prisoner of war flag that was donated to the high school in 2018.

Concordia Lutheran High School’s JROTC Cadets competed at the World Championships in VEX Robotics at the end of April and came in second overall.

The A Cappella Choir from Concordia Lutheran High School is headed to the 2023 Indiana Choir State Finals! They were selected from qualifying regional contests as one of the top 16 choirs in the state of Indiana! They will compete in the Indiana State Finals Choir Championship at Pike High School in Indianapolis on Saturday, May 6. Concordia’s performance time is 7:30pm.

Congrats to the Class of 2023! We have 132 members in the senior class this year. Congratulations to our Valedictorian Keller Whicker and our Salutatorian Cameron Cage.

Members of the senior class were recognized Sunday night for their academic accomplishments. Also, two college scholarships were awarded this evening, the Carl F Gallmeier Memorial Endowed College Scholarship and the Martin Fischer Memorial Scholarship.

Concordia Lutheran High School had four DECA Business Club students represented at the international competition in Orlando, Fla. from April 22-26.
